A WORD FOR TODAY 1 SEPTEMBER 2021

*A WORD FOR TODAY

*FIND TIME TO PRAY AS YOU PROCLAIM CHRIST

_"And when it was day he departed and went into a lonely place. And the people sought him and came to him, and would have kept him from leaving them; but he said to them, I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; for I was sent for this purpose."(Luke 4:42-43)_

_*We cannot be passive in attitude when it comes to following Jesus. We must constantly be on the move proclaiming His name in words and action. This is the way to go and we bring honour to His name when we work for Him.*_

_Jesus was sent by the Father to proclaim the gospel and to bring healing to the sick, restoration and liberation to the captives and to win souls into His kingdom. He gave His best in this mission because the Holy Spirit was at work in Him._

_*We see in the gospel reading how He was actively doing the work that He was sent to do. He preached the gospel everywhere and He brought healing to those who are sick, cast out many demons and kept on doing good at all times.*_

_He is constantly giving Himself for the good of others, but he will always find time to go and pray. In prayer He will be alone and commune with the Father and renew His strength to be able to do more good. This is where He draws His power to continue to do the things he does._

_*We must learn from Jesus if we are going to make impact in our calling as God's children. Our mission is to proclaim Christ, but we must, constantly stay close to Jesus in prayer and contemplation in order to be refilled and recharged by the Holy Spirit as we do God's work. We must work, yes, but we must take time off everyday to be with God in prayer. It is what we receive in our moments of prayer and meditation that we will be able to give to others in the course of our proclaiming the gospel.*_

_Prayer gives us the strength to be able to do our work well. If we spend time with God in prayer, we shall have the inner strength and energy to continue to shine as the light at all times. Therefore, value your prayer life, spend quality time with God in prayer, then move from His presence to do your work and you will achieve greater success in this life._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a beautiful day and a blessed new month. May the Lord renew your strength as you draw closer to Him in prayer. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Colossians 1:1-8/Psalm 52:10,11/Luke 4:38-44

*Watch-Word:* The Lord has sent me to preach the good news to the poor.

*If you do not spend quality time with God in prayer, you will be tired and empty and will have nothing to offer His flock when you minister to them.*
