*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*STAY WATCHFUL AND BE READY ALWAYS*

_"As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man. They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all."(Luke 17:26-27)_

_*One thing we cannot know for sure is when the end will come for us. Yes, we know it must surely come, but we do not know how, when and where it will meet us. Therefore, there is need for us to be watchful, ready and at alert, because it must surely come and it will not be a good thing if it meets us unprepared.*_

_The gospel tells us that as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man. Noah was building the ark and many were laughing at him. They were making merry, eating and drinking, but when the flood came and they had no place to hide, they realized that Noah has been wise and right all this while they were mocking him._

_*We must constantly be ready at all times because we do not know when the Son of man shall return. We must strive everyday to be watchful and ready. This is the only way to not get distracted and lose focus.*_

_If we focus on the things of this life we will definitely get distracted, but if our mind is solidly fixed on the things of heaven, the evil one will not have anything to hold against us._

_*We are in the world, yes, but we are not of the world. We must take care of our soul and do what we can to disconnect from everything that will make us not to be ready when the Lord comes. Do not procrastinate or postpone the time to seek God's face and reconcile with Him. Do it now and be ready for the Lord is coming at an hour you do not expect.*_

_Today we celebrate the memorial of St.Josaphat (c.1580- 1623) He was born in the Ukraine of Orthodox parents. He joined the first monastery of the order of St Basil to be united to the Catholic Church: he was the first person to do so. He was ordained priest and, eventually and reluctantly, appointed bishop of Polotsk in 1617. He worked very hard to spread the gospel and he was killed in the end. We must learn from Him to kerp doing God's work until He calls us back._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a lovely weekend. May Jesus give you the grace to be ready when He comes. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Wisdom 13:1-9/Psalm 19:2-5/Luke 17:26-37

*Watch-Word:* The heavens declare the glory of God.

_*Do not waste time on irrelevant things, spend your time oon things that matter and you will be ready in the end.*_

(Friday of the 32nd week in the ordinary time, year 1. Memorial of St. Josaphat)
