A WORD FOR TODAY 17 JUNE 2019

A WORD FOR TODAY

Jesus continues to admonish and teach us the way to live and the things that we will do in order to gain eternal life. We must not practise 'tit for tat', but adhere to Jesus' instruction and follow the principle of non-violence.

The Christian life is one that is lived in accordance with the standard set by our Lord and anyone who fails to live up to that standard cannot be a true disciple of Christ. We could suffer afflictions, hardship, calamities, hunger, etc, but we will not be moved because the grace of God will abide in us and help us to overcome.

A believer in Christ must always be ready to experience anything both good and bad in the course of his or her discipleship, however, if the persons faith is deeply and firmly rooted in Christ, he will surely overcome and come out triumphant. The secret of winning in the end is to stay connected to God and to persevere in the practise of our faith.

If we intend to make the world a better place, we must hearken to the admonition of our Lord Jesus Christ in the gospel of today and avoid the things that will make us want to retaliate when we are offended or when people cause us pain, we should desist from seeking to pay back evil with evil, but try to pay back evil with good as Jesus did when He was in the world.

Whatever we suffer here in this life as children of God will definitely bring us reward from Him in the end. Therefore, you must never give up or allow anything to stop you from following the example of Jesus in everything you do. He was wounded by the people He came to save and He still went to calvary and shed his blood for them. This should be our attitude and we will always find joy and fulfillment in serving the Lord.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you begin your day and do have a wonderful new week. May the Holy Spirit guide you as you try your best to be like Christ to all men and women in our world. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: 2 Corinthians 6:1-10/Psalm 98:1-4/Matthew 5:38-42

Watch-Word: Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light for my path.

The attitude of a follower of Christ should be one that promotes peace and love. Put on that garment and you will make heaven.
