A WORD FOR TODAY

SUPPORT THE WORK OF EVANGELIZATION

"Soon afterward he went on through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, and also some women.”(Luke 8:1-2)

The command that Jesus gave his disciples to go out into the whole world and preach the Good News is not something that was tied to their time, instead, it is a command that is meant for anyone who wants to follow Him, even in our own time.

As we have a responsibility to propagate the Good news, it is also a known fact that there are persons who by virtue of their office and calling like priests and religious have devoted their lives in preaching the Good News. We must try as much as we can to support them so that they will be able to fulfill their calling in this life and win souls for God.

In the gospel reading of today, we see how Jesus continued preaching the Good News through towns and villages and His disciples were with Him. They spent their time and energy going about the places winning souls for the Lord and God did not abandon them, but made provisions for them.

Worthy of mention are the women who supported Jesus and the apostles through their means of livelihood: Mary, Joanna, Susanna and many others as we have recorded in the gospel. They gave their little to support God's work because they love God and that made them to find favour in the sight of the lord.

Evangelization is a project that requires material and moral support for it to be carried out. The task of winning souls has been given to us by Christ and we must continue to support God's work willingly without any compulsion so that we shall find eternal reward in the end.*_

We belong to various parish and ecclesial community and from time to time demands are made of us to support God's work. We must try to give what we can generously and without any grudges or grumbling so that we will get a good reward from God in the end. We continue to receive blessings from the Lord through the Church and her ministers and in appreciation to God we must support the Church and her ministers through our gifts so that they can do more in winning souls for Christ. Never fail to support a minister of the gospel or allow him or her to lack, make provisions for him or her as much as you can and God will reward you immensely in the end.

Good morning dearest one. Smile🙂as you do your work and do have a blessed day. May Jesus reward you for all you do to support the Church, her ministers and the cause of evangelization. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: 1 Corinthians 15:12-20/Psalm 17:1,6-8,15/Luke 8:1-3

Watch-Word: If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.

Support your priests and ministers of the gospel and help them to keep winning souls for Christ.
