A WORD FOR TODAY

A GOOD HEART WILL BEAR GOOD FRUITS FOR GOD

"And as for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bring forth fruit with patience."(Luke 8:15)

Bearing fruit for Jesus is a responsibility we must strive to fulfil if we intend to live with Him in heaven on the last day. If we do not bear fruits for Him, we will not be found worthy to be admitted into the beatific vision at the end of time.

The parable of the sower and the seed that was sown is something that teaches us about making our heart to be fertile so that we will be able to bear good fruits for God. The sower(God) has sown the seed,(the Word), but for the seed to germinate it will depend on the soil(the heart) that has received it.

The seeds that fell on the path, on thorns and on the rock could not produce good fruits because the soil was not conducive for it to blossom and germinate. It is the same with our heart. When we fail to make our heart receptive to God's word and fill it up with others things, there will be no space for God's word and we will not be able to bear fruits for God.

A good heart that has been nourished by God's word will definitely bear good fruits, but when your heart is famished and you do not create a quality time to feed on God's word, it will become dry and arid and will not bear good fruits of love, mercy, compassion and generousity, but fruits of wickedness, bitterness and anger.

We must be careful not to starve our hearts from feeding on God's word with devotion and attention. This is the only way we will be able to shine out as the light and live a life worthy of our calling as children of God. To bear good fruits for God we must nourish our hearts with His word on a daily basis. If you do not create time to be with God and love the things that concerns Him, you will never bear good fruits for Him.

Good morning dearest one. Smile🙂 as you do your work and do have a peaceful weekend. May Jesus give you the grace to love His word and feed on it daily so that you will bear good fruits for Him. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: 1 Corinthians 15:35-37, 42-49/Psalm 56:10-14/Luke 8:4-15

Watch-Word: Do not let the things of this life stop you from bearing fruits for Christ.

If your heart is not nourished and fed with the right things, you will not be able to represent Jesus who is the light of the world.
