A WORD FOR TODAY 20 DECEMBER 2020

A WORD FOR TODAY

THY WILL BE DONE IN MY LIFE, O LORD.

_"And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her."(Luke 1:38)_

_*The will of God is always supreme in all things and at all times and anyone who submits to it will always be happy and fulfilled in life. What we desire and seek, sometimes, does not correspond to what God wants for us, (For My thoughts are not your thoughts neither are my ways your ways- Jeremiah 55:8), but if we let God take control of our heart and life and use us as He pleases we will not have any regrets in the end.*_

_In the first reading of today, David opted to build the Lord a house, but that was not to be, because God Himself has a plan different from that of David. David could not build the Lord a house because He had shed so much blood (1 Chronicle 22:8-10) The Lord promised to raise him an offspring instead to reign as King over the people. The promise of the Lord will come to fulfilment in the new testament as the Blessed Virgin Mary said yes to God's plan and Jesus was born the saviour of the world._

_*The Angel Gabriel came to Mary with the Good News as we have recorded in the gospel reading of today and she said yes to the Lord. She let God's will be done in her life and today we are all beneficiaries of the blessedness that Has come to humanity through her yes. Jesus' Annunciation followed the pattern of great men in the Scriptures, It begins with the Visitation, the Message and the fulfilment of the promise. Isaac (Genesis 17-18), Samson (Judges 13), Samuel (1 Samuel 1), John (Luke 1:5-25).*_

_Mary had a plan but when the Lord presented His own plan to make use of her as a vessel, she willingly submitted herself in her poverty to the Lord and God used her to give the world the greatest gift ever, His Son through whom our redemption and reconciliation with the Father has come. She was not powerful, famous, great, but by letting herself to be used by God she became so much more than she would have been. She became the Mother of God with full honours. The power of the most high which represents God's presence came upon her and her story changed forever.(Exodus 13:21, 19:16, 40:34-35)_

_*God's will is always the best at all times, because He knows us better and it is very clear before Him what our tomorrow will be. We must learn to submit to His will and we will not have reason to panic or worry when things do not seem to go the way we have planned it.*_

_The Blessed Virgin Mary made herself available and God made use of her. For making use of her to be the Mother of Jesus, she became a vessel of honour. Whenever we let God's will be done in our lives, we are positioning ourselves to be honoured by Him._

_*God wants to make use of you, but you must be ready to let His will be done in your life as our Mother Mary did. Do not insist on your own way, God's way is the best and if you let Him, you will have reasons to be joyful in the end. Pray well and with faith, but in the end say, Lord, Let thy will be done and then leave everything in His hands for He will show you His face at the appointed time.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you begin your day and do have a beautiful Sunday. May God's will be done in your life and may things turn around for good for you. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 2 Samuel 7:1-5,8-12,14,16/Psalm 89:2-5, 27,29/Romans 16:25-27/Luke 1:26-38

*Watch-Word:* Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.

*God's will for you is the best, submit to Him today and He will lead you to the place where you will be happy and satisfied.*
