A WORD FOR TODAY

If there is anything you should worry about in this life, it is to strive to do God's will so that on the last day you will be welcomed into the kingdom of heaven where your good works here on earth must have deposited treasures for you that you are going to enjoy.

When we focus our mind only on the things of this earth, it will be blocked from focusing on the things of heaven which should be our priority. If you focus your mind on the things of this earth you may succeed in acquiring them but you will still not be satisfied.

We are here on earth as pilgrims and after our earthly existence we shall return back to the Lord. The question will be, what are you taking back to God when He calls you back.

You came into this life with nothing and you will not take anything back except the good you have done, that is the only thing that will make you to be happy. Our treasure is secured in heaven and nothing will happen to it. Every good thing you do here on earth will come to pay you back someday, therefore never stop doing good, but use all your strength and energy to serve God well here on earth so that you will receive eternal reward in heaven.

The physical possessions you acquire here on earth will not follow you when you leave this earth, therefore, release yourself from them and be detached so that you will be able to do good and serve your God well. Use whatever you have to do good. Be generous to the needy so that your spiritual bank in heaven will continue to receive the deposits of the treasures you will enjoy when your time here on earth comes to an end.

Today we celebrate the memorial of saint Aloysius Gonzaga. He was born into a noble family, but he gave up his birthright in order to follow Jesus by becoming a missionary and he died doing God's will. Let us learn from him to always be ready to follow Jesus and to help others with what we have.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May Jesus help you to shine out as the light always and detach yourselves from the things of this life so as to focus on the things of heaven. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: 2 Corinthians 11:18,21-30/Psalm 34:2-7/Matthew 6:19-23

Watch-Word: Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.

Be the light that will change the world and you will store up treasure for yourself in heaven.
