*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*YOU WILL BE HATED FOR THE SAKE OF CHRIST*

_"Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division; for henceforth in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three"(Luke 12:51-52)_

_*Anyone who reads the gospel passage for the first time will actually be troubled at the sayings of Jesus, because He is the prince of peace, but now He is saying that He has not come to bring peace on earth, but division.*_

_Jesus is actually telling the truth, because He is the light and His mission is to save, therefore, anyone who does not believe in Him will definitely be against Him and anyone who profess His name._

_*When you accept to follow Jesus and to live according to His standards, you will definitely pitch yourself against those who do not believe in Him or in His way. Therefore, this is a clear reminder from Jesus of what is to come.*_

_We should not expect anything different, if the people rejected Jesus when He came, they will also reject us who follow Him. However, just as Christ did not stop proclaiming God's kingdom, we must never stop preaching God's love to others even when they persecute us and hate us in return._

_*The hatred or persecution we will experience for believing in Christ can come from those who are close to us, even our family members. In all these we must hold unto the principle of love at all times. We must never pay them back with evil, but with good and in this way we will be like Jesus at all times.*_
