A WORD FOR TODAY

*GOD HAS MADE A NEW COVENANT WITH US IN CHRIST*

_"The days will come, says the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah"(Hebrews 8:8)_

_*If we start to reflect on what God has done for us in Christ, we are going to marvel at the degree of love the Lord has shown to us and it will move us to love Him more and maintain our loyalty to Him.*_

_Indeed we are children of the new covenant. The first covenant the Lord had with the people of Israel was faulty and defective. It was ratified with the blood of bulls and goats and the law of the Lord was given in a tablet of stone, but in the new covenant, it was ratified with the blood of His Son our Lord Jesus Christ and He has put his law in our minds and heart and He will be a God for us and we shall be His people._

_*In Jesus Christ we have become a people closer to the heart of God and God is our Father. He loves us and He takes care of His own. However, if we intend to be His children, we must strive to remain obedient to Him and to do what He commands.*_

_We are children of the new covenant and in Jesus Christ we now have the privilege to approach God's presence and to seek His face. The Lord has shown us mercy through His Son and He has reconciled us to Himself through His Sacrifice on the Cross._

_*As children of the New covenant we must be ready like the twelve to go out and proclaim the Good News of salvation. We must let the world know Jesus who has done all things well. In His name we shall touch lives and they will come to follow the Lord.*_

*We have a new covenant in Christ and if we obey the Lord we shall be happy here on earth and we shall bring Him honour in all that we do.*
