A WORD FOR TODAY 24 DECEMBER 2020

A WORD FOR TODAY

LIFT UP YOUR VOICE AND PRAISE THE NAME OF THE LORD

_"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people, and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old." (Luke 1:68-70)_

_*Giving thanks and singing a song of praise to God is something we must do regularly, because God is always blessing us. No one in this life will claim that God has not blessed him or her, but sometimes we become so lazy and we fail to acknowledge the greatness and goodness of the Lord in our lives.

_Zechariah in the gospel reading of today sang a song of praise known as the benedictus to the Lord. It is similar to the magnificat of our Blessed Mother. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and he poured out his heart to the Lord in praise._

The things he said in his song of praise is not just about him alone because of the gift of John the Baptist, but about us and what God has done for His people by sending His Son our Lord Jesus Christ to come and save us. God visited us in Christ and we are redeemed and for that we must give glory to Him.

_This is a time to lift up our voice and praise the Lord for what He has done for us. He has done so much for us and we must be grateful. We receive the gift of life, healing, protection and deliverance from accident, armed robbers, forgiveness of sins, all round blessings and so much more, we must never forget to say thank you. Our thanksgiving to God could also be expressed in our actions, by giving to the poor and the less privileged and there is no better time to do it than now we are expecting the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ at Christmas._

_*When we praise and thank God for what He has done, we prepare ourselves to receive more blessings. Therefore, this is a time to look into your heart, count your blessings, name them one by one and be moved by what you see to say thank you Lord.*_

_Open your heart and let the Spirit of the Lord move you to sing praises to the Lord and appreciate Him for what He has done. Never forget what the Lord has done for you, give praise to Him and you will receive more blessings from Him._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have s blessed day. May Jesus give you the spirit of praise and thanksgiving and may you be able to lift up your voice and praise Him. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 1 Samuel 7:1-5,8-12,14-16/Psalm 89:2-5,27,29/Luke 1:67-79

*Watch-Word:* I will sing forever of your mercies, O Lord.

*God is constantly blessing us and we must constantly give Him praise. Always be grateful for what the Lord has done for you.*
