A WORD FOR TODAY

OUR HELPLESSNESS MEETS HELPFULNESS IN CHRIST

Have you ever experienced a situation where you were in serious need of help and yet practically no help could come from anyone you have hoped could help you. And sometimes, they may even be people you have helped before. Such a feeling could be killing and can lead to frustration and unnecessary argument emanating from aggressive feelings of desperateness.

The man in the gospel reading of today was helpless and he sought for help for his child who was suffering from epilepsy. He brought him to the disciples of Jesus and they could not heal him. However, when Jesus came into the picture, his helplessness was met with Jesus' helpfulness. Jesus cured his son when he expressed his faith in Him.

As human beings we have needs and sometimes we are unable to help ourselves in solving the challenges that confront us. In our quest to find solutions, many have gone to people and places where they will not get any help at all. There is need for us to believe and know that if we have faith in Christ, all things will be possible. This means that our helplessness has a solution when it meets Jesus._

There is need for us to let God's Spirit guide us always, so that in our times of need, we shall not panic, but place our total trust and faith in Christ who is ever ready to help us. We must let God know about our needs in prayers and if we pray with faith we shall get answers and He will come to our help.

The wisdom from above will help you to know where to go to when you are in need. You will not be deceived and you will find the help you need. But if you expose yourself to be controlled, by the wisdom of the world, you will be led astray and in your times of help, you will find know help, but more complication and sadness.

No matter how difficult your present condition is, remember that you have a friend in Jesus. People may not help you, infact, they may add to your problem, but Jesus is your sure helper in your times of need. That your helplessness has a solution, it is Jesus. Just call upon Him in prayers, have faith in Him and He will send you the true help you need at the right time. If your case is one that requires medical attention, do not fail to go to the hospital, but pray to Jesus as you go and He will use the doctors as instruments to help you. Remember that whatever you have handed over to God is safe in His hands, therefore, be calm and let His will be done.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a peaceful day. May God's help be available for you always in your times of need. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: James 3:13-18/Psalm 19:8,9,10,15/Mark 9:14-29

Watch-Word: The precepts of the Lord are right, they gladden the heart.

When you talk to men and they do not help you, talk to God and He will send you the help you need through His own channel.
