A WORD FOR TODAY

COME TO JESUS AND YOU WILL FIND LIFE

"Herod said, John I beheaded; but who is this about whom I hear suchThings? And he sought to see him."(Luke 9:9)_

When our heart is burdened and troubled, we will not be at peace, because our conscience will be full of guilt and worry. Those moments are times we need to seek the face of Jesus so that He will restore our inner tranquillity and give us the joy that our heart desires.*_

Today in the gospel reading we are presented with the perplexity of Herod. He was troubled in the spirit, because of what Jesus was doing. People have started saying that probably, because of Jesus' action, that John the Baptist whom he beheaded has risen from the dead or he is Elijah or one of the old prophets.

Herod did what was wrong in the sight of God and he lost the peace of soul. He was restless and he sought to see Jesus. However, the reason he sought to see Jesus probably was to make sure that He was not John the Baptist and then he could have peace.

We are worried and sometimes in pain because of situations of life. The issues that confront us could push us to the point where our heart is distressed. In such moments, we need to seek Jesus who is the way, the truth and the life, so that He will calm the storm in our heart and give us peace.

Come to Jesus with a sincere and clear mind and He will restore you again and give you the strength to keep moving forward. Do not let your worry or pain eat you up. Come to Him with an open mind and He will make all things well for you again.

The world and everything in it is passing away. It is all vanity, as the first reading tells us. However, if we are in Christ, we will be rest assured that our stay in this life will be meaningful and when we die we shall also be admitted into a life that will never end. You need Jesus to have life and you need Him to have the peace of your soul. Only Jesus can calm the storm in the sea for you, draw closer to Him today, turn away from your evil ways and you will find etetnal life.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May your daily encounter with Jesus bring you divine healing, conversion of heart and peace for your soul. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Ecclesiastes 1:2-11/Psalm 90:3-6,12-14,17/Luke 9:7-9
