A WORD FOR TODAY

The apostles Peter and John were able to do good to a crippled man in the name of Jesus because they believed in Him and offered Him to all those who came close to them. When they were asked to give an explanation by what power the miracle was performed, they were not ashamed to mention the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus is our means of salvation and anyone who believes in Him will be saved.

The authorities rejected Jesus and eventually crucified Him, but today He has become a source of salvation to all those who believed. Indeed, the stone which the builders rejected has become the corner stone. We must not reject Jesus again through our actions, instead, we should believe in Him at all times and He will save us.

We must not isolate Jesus from our lives, because without Him we can achieve nothing in this life. We must make Him the source our strength and inspiration. He will be the foundation upon which we stand and in that way we will be able to record success in the things we do. The disciples laboured through the night and they caught nothing, but when Jesus spoke and they obeyed, they caught a large quantity of fish beyond their imagination.

Miracles do happen when we listen to Gods word and obey His command. He knows what we need at any point in time and when we let His words take root in us, we will do His will and His blessings will come upon us.

In this mission of proclaiming the name of Jesus for the salvation of the world, we must be ready to help and support one another. No one person can do it alone. Everyone of us has something good to offer and if we synergise we will achieve greater result in our mission. Always be ready and willing to put your gifts into good use for the good of the people of God.

We need Jesus in our lives and we need His presence around us also. If we have Him, we will not be afraid of anyone or anything. We will have the confidence to speak about Him and proclaim His name. Fear not anymore, stay close to Jesus, nourish your life with His word and then go out to proclaim His name and miracles will definitely follow the works that you do.

Never walk alone without God, He is our success and He is our miracle. Hold unto Him and let the name of Jesus be on your lips always.
