A WORD FOR TODAY

Challenges and difficulties are part of our living experience as God's children. This will definitely come to us whether we like it or not. However, when it does come, we only need to place our trust in God and He will help us to overcome.

The first reading of today encourages us to prepare ourselves for temptations and persecutions which will surely come to us as we follow Jesus. We shall be tested just like gold and silver are tested in the fire. Our victory over our temptations and tribulations will come so long as we place our trust in God.

Jesus in the gospel reading did not hide this truth from His disciples He made them know from the very beginning that He was going to suffer and die, but He will rise again. They could not understand it, but when it did happen it became clear to them that He was telling them the truth.

If we are not prepared to carry our cross to follow Jesus, we will not be able to answer the name 'disciples of Christ'. If you want everything to come to you smoothly without any suffering or pain, then you must be making a very big mistake.

All that is needed from us is to put our total trust in God like a little child trusts his parents. We must trust God because He will never abandon us and neither will He put us to shame. He will deliver us and give us victory over our afflictions.

Keep on serving the Lord in the people and if trials and temptations come, remain steadfast and put your trust in the Lord. Fear not for He will help you overcome and His reward will come to you in due time.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊 as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May Jesus be with in your time of trials and may He grant you victory. Amen. *And May the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

*Meditation:* Sirach 2:1-11/Psalm 37:3-4,18-19,27-28,39-40/Mark 9:30-37

*Watch-Word:* Commit your way to the Lord and He will act!

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all.(Psalm 34:19) Remain steadfast for the Lord will help you overcome.
