*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*EARNESTLY SEEK THE LORD WITH FAITH*

_"When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to him, Yes, Lord. Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it done to you.”(Matthew 9:28-29)_

_*It is one thing to have a need and it is another thing to reach out to the right person to help you solve your problem. Sometimes, we look at the wrong places for help and that delays our opportunity of getting what we want.*_

_Again how we ask when we ask for help also matters. When it comes to asking from God we must ask with faith and persistence. There must be humility in your heart when you seek the Lord and that will make your prayers to be answered._

_*The blind men in the gospel reading cried out to Jesus for help and Jesus asked if they believed He could restore their sight and they said yes. They had faith and Jesus showed them mercy and opened their eyes.*_

_Do not be too proud and refuse to ask for help when you are in need from the one who can help you. Identify your need and then seek the face of God. Jesus is ever ready to come to your aid if you call upon Him with faith._

_*Take a movement towards Jesus and He will open your eyes. Spiritual blindness is even worse than the physical one, therefore, we must identify our blind sides and present it to Jesus for healing and restoration.*_

_Today we celebrate the memorial of St Francis Xavier (1506 - 1552). He was born in the Basque country of Spain in 1506. He met Ignatius Loyola when he was a student in Paris, and he was ordained priest in 1537. In 1541 the Pope sent him as part of a mission to India, and he spent the rest of his life in the East, preaching the Gospel. He made many converts and fought against the exploitation of the native population. Let us learn from him to always stand on the side of good._
