A WORD FOR TODAY 30 JULY 2020

A WORD FOR TODAY

DO WITH ME WHATEVER YOU WILL, O LORD.

"Then the word of the Lord came to me: 6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? says the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel."(Jeremiah 18:5-6)_

When God created us, He made us in His own image and likeness and His main purpose of bringing us into this life is for us to know Him, love Him, to serve Him in this life so as to be able to live with Him in eternal joy in heaven. This is His original intent, but man out of his own volition made a choice that made him disobey God and he fell.

It has always been a challenge for man to obey God and let His will be done in him. We always try to do our will and abandon the way of God and the more we try to stay away from God and do our own will, the more we fail and become who He has not made us to be.

In the first reading of today, God showed Jeremiah what He intends to do with human beings through the work of the Potter. The Potter was moulding a vessel and it got spoilt, but he did not let it be, instead he reworked it and gave it another shape. This shows that we are vessels in the hands of the Lord and He can do with us whatever He wills. We must be ready to submit ourselves to Him so that He can make use of us as He wills.

When we learn to let God's will be done in our lives we shall begin to have joy and peace. God knows our beginning and our end and if we let Him lead us, we shall not be led astray, we will definitely arrive our destination in one piece. He knows the route more than we know and He knows where the dangers lie on our path, therefore, we must submit ourselves to Him and allow Him to do with us whatever He wills.

Do with me whatever you will is a prayer we must say everyday and it should serve as a reminder to us that we are not our own, but we belong to God and in obedience we must let Him remould us into who He wants us to be. We may have disobeyed Him and chosen our own path, but we can turn around and submit to Him so that He can bring out the best in us. Anyone who does not let God's will be done in his or her life can never be a true disciple of Jesus.

When God's will is done in our lives, we shall do well here on earth and on the last day we shall be among those the angels will bring into God's kingdom in heaven where we shall see Him as He truly is and enjoy the beatific vision. Submit to God today in obedience and He will make you a vessel of honour in His name.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May God give you the grace to submit to Him so that He will do with you whatever He wills. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Jeremiah 18:1-6/Psalm 146:1-6/Matthew 13:47-53

Watch-Word: Like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.

God's will is the best for you. In obedience, let it be done and you will be happy forever.
