A WORD FOR TODAY 6 OCTOBER 2020

A WORD FOR TODAY

DO THE RIGHT THING AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY

"But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good portion, which shall not be taken away from her.”(Luke 10:41-42)

Happiness and sadness definitely comes through the choices we make in life, and life is not something you can comfortably predict, you must make the right choice if you want to be happy.

Today in the gospel reading Jesus visits the home of Mary and Martha. Mary sat at Jesus' feet to listen to Him, while Martha was busy with serving. They both made a choice and the outcome of their choice was visible for us to see._

Martha was not happy that Mary could not come to help her in the kitchen and when she complained to Jesus, she was told by Him that Mary has chosen the good portion.

This should be a lesson for us in life. We must strive to do the right thing if we want to be happy. The choices we make whether good or bad, will determine whether we will be happy or sad. If you want joy, you must make the right choice and do the right thing, but if you want sadness, then you must make the wrong choice.

To be happy in this life and in the world to come we must listen to Jesus and strive to focus on what is needed and important and avoid unnecessary distraction that may come to us from time to time. Martha was not doing something wrong, infact, it is good to show hospitality, however, at that time, Jesus does not need to eat, but to have someone listen to Him. Learn from this to know the time to do things at the appointed moment so as not to be disappointed with the response you will get from people.*_

To stay close to Jesus is to hear from Him and be fed by Him. When our hearts are nourished by His word, we will be filled with joy and we will go out to bear good fruits for Him.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a glorious day. May Jesus help you to make the right choice in life always so as to be happy. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

Meditation: Galatians 1:13-24/Psalm 139:1-3,13-15/Luke 10:38-42

Watch-Word: Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.

Your happiness or sadness in life will depend on the choice you make, therefore, choose wisely.*
