A WORD FOR TODAY, 7 SEPTEMBER 2021

*A WORD FOR TODAY

*CREATE ROOM FOR INTENSE PERSONAL PRAYER

_"In these days he went out into the hills to pray; and all night he continued in prayer to God. And when it was day, he called his disciples, and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles"(Luke 6:12-13)_

_*The LORD is good to all and compassionate toward all his works. We are the works of God and the readings of today resound a very important characteristic of our God. They say our God is compassionate towards all his works. Which means our God has warm thoughts towards us. He is concerned about all we go through and even the day to day choices we make in life.*_

_We are often in need of wisdom to make the right choices in life. We are sometimes sick and in need of Gods touch. We are always in need of one thing or the other such that God feels our need and is compassionate towards us._

*Jesus departed to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God...*

_In the Gospel we notice the immediate benefit of the intense personal prayer life of Jesus. Once after intense prayer, he goes forth to choose the twelve apostles; from the other disciples and power readily comes forth from him to heal the sick._

_*During intense personal prayer, our compassionate God empowers us for our vocations in life. He helps us to make clear and good choices and fills us with power to bless others through our work. For you to be able to pray well and continue to be a blessing to others you must constantly withdraw from the crowd to a lonely place to be with God in solitude.*_

_A good personal prayer life will firmly establish us in our faith in Christ Jesus. We will not be captivated by empty, seductive philosophy according to the traditions of men, according to the elemental powers of the world, just as St. Paul admonishes in the first reading. With prayer we will fan into flame the life and gifts of God in us which we received at baptism and confirmation._

_*Intense personal prayer does not always depend on the amount of time spent but the quality of time. So that in your busy day, you should know that you can pick out little breaks to relax and fellowship with your God.*_

_Make out time always to leave the world and all its worries, challenges and demands to go to a lonely place to be with your God. Take a step away from the noise of this world and renew yourself and recharge your spiritual strength in the presence of God and you will come back rejuvenated to continue to do greater things in the name of God._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊 as you do your work today and be good. Always remember to create time for a personal prayer and do have a wonderful day. May Jesus be with you always and renew your strength. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Colossians 2:6-15/Psalm 145:1-2, 8-9, 10-11/Luke 6:12-19

*Watch-Word:* He spent the night in prayer.

*If you wish to receive from the Compassionate God, go to him in intense personal prayer. It is there that he will touch you and empower you to meet up your daily challenges.*
