*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*YOU ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD*

_"The Jews then said to him, what sign have you to show us for doing this? Jesus answered them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up"(John 2:18-19)_

_*Today the Universal Church celebrates the feast of the dedication of the Lateran Basilica. It is the mother and head of all the Churches of the city of Rome and the world. It is the Cathedral of the Pope constructed by Emperor Constantine. The Basilica was dedicated to Jesus the Saviour and the feast of the dedication of the Church is a feast of our Lord.*_

_The Church is a sign of God and reconciliation by which Christ has brought us into communion with God in whom we live, move and have our being. The faithful in the Church are the living stones (1 Peter 2:5) that are united to form the Church, for if there is no union of stones there will be no Church._

_*The Church or the temple is not just the physical building, but the people inside it who have been called by Christ who is the foundation and we are built upon Him. We must be careful not to destroy what He has built, but everyday work hard to make it holy and grow stronger.*_

_We are God's temple and we have been offered to the Lord and it is our responsibility to make sure that the temple of God is kept clean from evil always. We must constantly be conscious of the fact that we have been offered to God as a living sacrifice by virtue of our baptism and in that way we shall not sin against Him._

_*We must grow in holiness so that what comes out of us as God's temple will be a blessing to the people and not a curse. Just as we see in the first reading from the prophecy of Ezekiel, the water from the sanctuary brought life and healing to everything it touched, so are we expected to bring life, healing, joy and fruitfulness to all people as God's temple.*_

_We are God's temple and His Spirit dwells in us. We must keep seeking good always and strive to live a life worthy of our calling and in that way the temple will be kept holy and God will be pleased. The temple is a place we go to encounter God and not a place we go to play. We must be careful not to profane or destroy God's house by sin as the money changers in the gospel reading._

_*Seek holiness always, clean your heart from filth and draw closer to Jesus and you will be a worthy temple for Him and He will make use of you for greater things. Go to confession and clean up yourself and your heart will become pure and God will come to dwell in you and will work wonders through you.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May the water from God's sanctuary touch you and make you holy. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Ezekiel 47:1-2,8-9,12/Psalm 46:2-9/1 Corinthians 3:9-11,16-17/John 2:13-22

*Watch-Word:* The waters of a river give joy to God's city, the holy place, the dwelling of the most high.

_*When God dwells in you as His temple, He will make use of you for greater good. Be a holy temple for God.*_

(Tuesday of the 32nd week in the ordinary time. Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica)
