A WORD FOR TODAY

THERE IS A REWARD FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO

"Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets."(Luke 6:22-23)_

We cannot hold anything in this life tenaciously as if to say that without it we cannot be. Our life on earth is meant to be lived well in accordance to God’s will. When this is done, we must be rest assured that we will receive a bountiful reward from God on the last day.*_

We must live our lives in accordance with God’s will if we intend to be rewarded well on the last day. Those who choose to live for God will suffer pain, sometimes will go hungry and may even be rejected by men and persecuted, but blessed and good reward awaits him in the end.

Saint Luke’s account of the sermon on the plain and Saint Matthew’s version in the Sermon on the Mount are very similar, but there is also a difference. They both begin with a blessing, but St. Luke also added the woes that will come to those who fail to live their lives well for God.*_

If we Choose to focus on this world and pursue everything according to its standard we shall be the ones to lose in the end, but if we submit our loyalty to Jesus and do His will on earth, we may suffer persecution in the hands of people, we may be hungry and things could be difficult for us, but in the end we shall rejoice, because we shall receive a reward that will wipe away the tears of our suffering._

The choice is ours to make, whether to follow Jesus’ way or to strive to gain the whole world and lose heaven’s reward in the end. Therefore, we will be responsible of what our end becomes, good or bad. However, following Saint Paul’s advice in the first reading of today we have to live our lives in preparedness because the world is passing away.

Live well now, do good always, and endure trials and persecutions for the sake of Christ and you will receive a blessed reward in the end. However, if you choose to abandon God and embrace the world in its totality and all its emptiness, then be rest assured that it is with your hands that you are preparing woes for yourself.

Good morning dearest one, Smile😊 as you do your work and do have a beautiful day. May Jesus give you the grace to choose Him above earthly things so that you will receive heavenly reward in the end. Amen. And May the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: 1 Corinthians 7:25-31/Psalm 45:11-17/Luke 6:20-26

Watch-Word: Rejoice and leap for joy for your reward is great in heaven.

If you love Jesus’ way, you will bear the cross now and you will be rewarded in eternity, but if you want to enjoy the pleasure of the world now, you will lose the reward of heaven. The choice is yours to make.*
