*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*YOU HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY IN GOD'S PLAN*

_When we act as if everything depends on us, we tend to forget that we are God's creatures and He has made us in His own image and likeness and has given us a purpose to fulfil in this life. On the other hand when we act as if we do not have a role to play in what happens in our life we tend to forget that God has given us the free will to make a choice of what we want in life, which if the right choice is made will help us to fulfil God's plan for our life._

_*It is the will of God that we should be holy to serve Him here on earth so as to be able to live with Him in heaven. For one to achieve this, the person must consciously make effort to avoid occasions of sin and in that way we will be holy and blameless before Him.*_

_In the first reading of today we see how David, the man after God's own heart committed sin against God, because he made the choice to satisfy the desires of his flesh against the command of God that we should be holy. He sinned against God and against his fellow human being and he suffered for it._

_*The grace to be holy has been given to us by God, but He will not come to live it out for us. We must strive everyday to discipline ourselves and our senses and desire to be holy and pure before Him so as to be like Him who has called us to come and serve Him in this life.*_

_God will never come to do for you what you can do for yourself. Play your part and let God do His own part. Do not push your responsibility to God, because it will be an exercise in futility, rather make effort and ask God to help you so that your effort will bear fruit with time. In the words of saint Augustine, He who created you without you, cannot save you without your consent._

_*When you are tempted to commit sin, do not block the voice of God in your conscience that will ask you not to do it, rather, be disposed to be chastised by Him so that you will come out stronger and a better person. Holiness is a project you can invest on, start something today no matter how little it may be, but be rest assured that it will come to be to your advantage in the future.*_

_Today we celebrate the memorial of saint John Bosco, Priest. (1815-1888). He was born into a peasant family and was brought up by his widowed mother, but he became a priest and devoted his life teaching the young ones the way to life. Let us learn from him to care for the young ones and help them not to fall astray._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May your cooperation with God's grace help you to be holy in words and deeds. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 2 Samuel 11:1-4,5-10,13-17/Psalm 51:3-7,10-11/Mark 6:26-34

*Watch-Word:* Have mercy, O Lord, for we have sinned.

_*You can be holy, if you make the choice and match it with disciplined action and commitment.*_
