A WORD FOR TODAY 02 JAN 2019

 The life we live will tell whether we are pro Christ or Antichrist. The only way we will be able to confess or witness for Christ is to Abide in Him and to let Him dwell in us.

When we live a life that shows the world where we stand, they will come to know Him whom we represent and we will win souls for Christ.

The one who confesses Christ will be truthful and there will be no lie in him. For he who lies does not represent Christ.

We see in Saint John the Baptist as recorded in the gospel of today that he was humble to accept who he is when he was asked whether he was Christ. John was content with who he was and did not claim to be who he is not.

Jesus has called us to witness for Him by virtue of our baptism, we must perform this role in truth and with humility so that our words and our actions will win more souls for Him.

Saints Basil the great and Gregory Nazianzen whom we celebrate today were outstanding in proclaiming Christ with their work and word. Let us learn from them to stay focused and keep proclaiming Christ even as we just started a new year.

Every opportunity we get in this life should be used to glorify the name of the Lord and we should never let such moments pass us by.
