*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*BE HUMBLE AS YOU ASK FROM THE LORD*

_"And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying to him, Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof" (Luke 7:6)_

_*We are presented today in the gospel reading the impact of a humble faith in the life of anyone who expresses such before God.*_

_One remarkable thing about today's gospel reading is that the centurion who asked for Jesus' help was not asking for himself but for his servant. This is pure compassion and the behaviour of one who is sensitive to the plight of others irrespective of the high position they occupy in the society._

_*When we ask of the Lord for help, we must do it with faith, but more importantly, we must stay humble as we ask because whatever we shall receive is unmerited.*_

_Can our faith expression match that of the centurion. He was humble to recognize his unworthiness to receive Christ in his home, but asked rather that He say a word and his servant shall be healed. This is truly a radical faith which we must emulate._

_*A person who comes before the Lord seeking for His help with faith and humility will surely go home happy, because such will make miracle to happen. A prayer that is offered with faith and humility moves the heart of God.*_

_When you pray, do not be selfish, pray for all and also for leaders and those in high positions, God will hear your prayers and help them to live well and lead well and such prayers will help them to find salvation also._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day and a blessed new week. May Jesus give you the grace to pray with faith and humility. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 1 Timothy 2:1-8/Psalm 28:2,7-9/Luke 7:1-10

*Watch-Word:* Blest be the Lord for he has heard the sound of my appeal

*God's ears are open to hear us when we pray with faith and humility.*

(Monday in the twenty fourth week in the ordinary time.)
