A WORD FOR TODAY 05 JAN 2019

 The year has just started and the readings are just pointing out for us what we need to do in order to have a blessed year. We need to take these words to heart and try to apply them in our lives so that we shall find fulfillment.

The ingredient of love is really needed in us if we are going to make the best of this year. We must love and not hate, because he who hates his brother or sister is a murderer and the person will not have eternal ife.

Our love must be sacrificial in nature, just as Jesus laid down His life as a ransom for many to prove his love for humanity, we must be willing and ready to go the extra mile to suffer pain and discomfort for the good and wellness of others.

True love must be willing and ready to give something good for the good of others. It is neither manipulative nor deceitful but selflessly doing something to make others better for God and humanity. You must open your eyes to see the need of people and do something to help and not close your eyes and ears to their cry for help.

True love is seen in action and not just in words or speech. If we truly love as Christ has laid down for us, we must be willing to show others the way to encounter Him who has done us well just as Philip did to Nathanael in the gospel reading of today.

When you truly love like Christ, you will show others the way to life and not what will destroy them and make them lose their focus. Love like Jesus always!
