*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*BE KIND TO THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE WHAT YOU HAVE*

_"and, although he loved Hannah, he would give Hannah only one portion, because the Lord had closed her womb. And her rival used to provoke her sorely, to irritate her, because the Lord had closed her womb."(1 Samuel 1:5-6)_

_*Welcome to the ordinary time of the year. We are grateful to God for the opportunity to celebrate the nativity of the Lord, crossover into a new year and now the Christmas season completed, we have entered into a new season in which we must continue to grow our faith.*_

_The readings of today teach us some important lessons as we go through this season in the Church. In the first reading we see how Hannah was mocked by Peninnah because she had no child. She was provoked sorely, but she kept her cool and took her matter to God in prayers._

_*There are things to learn here. First, we must desist from looking down on others or treating them badly because they do not have what we have. We must always bear in mind that God's time is the best, because what I don't have today I may get tomorrow, for no condition is permanent.*_

_Secondly, we must learn to be kind to others who may be going through difficult situations in life. Our kind words and behavior to them will help them to cope and overcome the mental stress and agony they bear in their heart as a result of their situation._

_*God does not forget those in need, He always come to their aid. All we need is to be patient and wait upon Him in prayers with faith and He will help us.*_

_In the gospel reading, we are called to follow Jesus and win souls for Him. We must be gentle and kind and treat people well. We must not be proud or speak rudely to others because of what we possess. No matter how life has blessed you, continue to stay humble because things cal always change. The one who who is down and has nothing today could be up tomorrow and possess greater good than you._

_*Follow Jesus today and love everyone around you and even if you are passing through a difficult time, Stay strong and hopeful, because God may be preparing you through your ordeal for a greater good.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day and a blessed new week. May God give you the grace to be kind to others at all times. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 1 Samuel 1:1-8/Psalm 116:12-14,17-19/Mark 1:14-20

*Watch-Word:* Follow Me and I will make you become fishers of men

_*Do not let what people say to you, stop you from looking up to God for help.*_
