*A WORD FOR TODAY*
*PREPARE TO WELCOME THE HOLY SPIRIT
_"But when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness to me; and you also are witnesses, because you have been with me from the beginning."(John 15:26-27)_
_*As we gradually approach the day of the Pentecost, the readings of today moves our mind to the person of the Holy Spirit and how He helped the apostles to carry our the task of evangelization and also taught them the truth as Jesus has promised.*_
_In the first reading of today we see how Paul and his companion went to different cities propagating the Good News and winning souls for Christ. It was through the power of the Holy Spirit and their message made a deep impression in the lives of the people and they listened to the message they delivered and believed in God._
_*In a few days we shall celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension and the journey of waiting at the upper room to receive the Holy Spirit will now commence. Jesus has finished His work, but He will not leave us as orphans, instead, He will send to us the Holy Spirit, the Counsellor who will lead us into all the truth and will bear witness for Him.*_
_The Holy Spirit should always be our companion in the journey of witnessing fur Christ. We cannot carry out our mandate of being disciples of Jesus, if we do not become friends with the Holy Spirit. There are many souls to be won over to the Lord, but it is through the power of the Holy Spirit that our words could make a deep impression in the hearts of the people who listen to us so as to move them to repentance. This exactly what happened to the household of Lydia as we read in the first reading._
_*The Holy Spirit will give us the strength and energy to remain steadfast in moments of persecution and difficulty. If we accept to proclaim Christ, we must also be ready to bear the cross that comes with it. Jesus reminds us about holding firmly to the faith even until death and in the end our reward must surely come.*_
_Begin to prepare to welcome the Holy Spirit and let Him have His proper place in your life. Let Him lead and guide you as you witness for Christ and by His power may your ministry and discipleship bear fruits for Christ in abundance._
_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day and a blessed new week. May the Holy Spirit help you to win souls for Christ always. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_
*Meditation:* Acts 16:11-15/Psalm 149:1-6,9/John 15:26-16:4
*Watch-Word:* The Lord takes delight in His people
*If you open your heart and welcome the Holy Spirit, He will use you to bring transformation and joy to the life of others who are yet to know Him.*
