*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*SHOW GRATITUDE TO GOD FOR HIS BLESSINGS ON YOU*

_"Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan"(Luke 17:15-16)_

_*Gratitude is a virtue that we all should possess and utilize at all times. It is the state of being grateful and appreciative of favours and blessings received. It also means to be thankful to God or to your fellow human beings who have done something good to you.*_

_Gratitude is a debt that we owe God and we must constantly keep thanking Him, because of the Good He has done for us and the numerous blessings and favours we receive from Him on a daily basis._

_*Many times we come to God asking for different things, healing, financial breakthrough, success in business, work and careeer, travelling mercies, peace, job opportunities and so on. We are usually desperate and we cry to Him as our last hope and He answers our prayers always in accordance with His will, but when it comes to saying thank you to Him, we become lethargic and in some cases fail totally to appreciate God as the source of our blessings.*_

_We see in the gospel reading of today how the ten lepers came to Jesus and pleaded with Him to show them mercy and heal them. They truly received their healing at His instruction, but only one person came back to show appreciation._

_*We must learn from this Samaritan to always be disposed to show gratitude to God and to anyone who has done good to us. We must thank God always for everything He is doing for us and no matter how little the assistance we receive from others may be, we must not fail to say thank you and appreciate them.*_

_God is good to us and we must never forget His benefits, (Psalm 103:2)rather, we should be humble and use every opportunity we get to appreciate Him for what He has done, is doing and will do in the future for us. Do not be ungrateful, use all you have to give praise to God and He will continue to do more for you. Thank Him for the air you breath, for life, healing, forgiveness, promotion, success in business, for your faith and other uncountable blessings and you will be doing yourself a greater good in this life and in the world to come._

_*Today we celebrate the memorial of Pope St Leo the Great (- 461). He was a true shepherd and father of souls. He constantly strove to keep the faith whole and strenuously defended the unity of the Church. St. Leo left many doctrinal and spiritual writings behind and a number of them are included in the Office of the Readings to this day. He died in 461.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a great day. May your voice never be tired of giving thanks to God and to those who have done something good to you. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Wisdom 6:1-11/Psalm 82:3-4,6-7/Luke 17:11-19

*Watch-Word:* Give thanks to God in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you

_*God blesses us always and to fail to thank Him is simply and act of pride and ingratitude which is a vice that must be uprooted from our lives.*_

(Wednesday of the 32nd week in the ordinary time, year 1. Memorial of St. Leo the great.)
