A WORD FOR TODAY

FOLLOW JESUS AND WIN SOULS FOR HIM

_"And passing along by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, “Follow me and I will make you become fishers of men.”(Mark 1:16-17)._

_*As we ended the Christmas season yesterday with the feast of the baptism of the Lord, the readings of today make us to focus on Christ and the mission of going out to proclaim the Good news for the salvation of souls.*_

_In the first reading the author of the letter to the Hebrews tells us that in this present time God has spoken to us through His Son and if we truly love God we must listen to His Son and do the things He wants us to do. God gave Jesus the name that is more excellent than that of the angels and we must worship Him as the angels worship Him and offer Him our loyalty and obedience at all times._

_*The call to discipleship is what we see in the gospel reading. The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand. It is time to go out and proclaim the Good News so as to win souls into the kingdom of God.*_

_Jesus called called Simon and his brother Andrew and He also extended the invitation to James and John. They were all fishermen, but when they got the invitation, they hearkened to Jesus' voice, left everything and followed Him, because He has the message of eternal life._

_*Jesus is calling us as He called them and we must not let anything stop us from responding to His invitation. We must go out and proclaim the Good News. Let others hear about Jesus through our witnessing. We must use every platform available at our disposal to proclaim Christ. Say yes to His invitation and get down to work immediately, because there are so many souls to be saved. Strive to know Jesus more and you will be ready to share Him with others who are yet to know Him.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a blessed day and fantastic new week. May Jesus give you the strength to witness for Him. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Hebrews 1:1-6/Psalm 97:1-2,6-9/Mark 1:14-20

*Watch-Word:* The kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe the gospel.

*Do not be ashamed to proclaim Jesus now, For He will speak for you in the presence of His Father on the last day.*
