*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*POUR OUT YOUR SOUL TO THE LORD IN PRAYER*

_"But Hannah answered, No, my lord, I am a woman sorely troubled; I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I have been pouring out my soul before the Lord."(1 Samuel 1:15)_

_*Yesterday we started reading from the first book of Samuel, the story of Hannah and how she was looked down upon because she has no child. Her mate spoke rudely to her because of her condition. That is enough to send someone into depression, and truly many persons in our time are passing through similar situation.*_

_Instead of allowing the situation to make her curse God or the woman who mocked her, Hannah went to the Lord in prayers and poured out her soul to Him. She did not pretend, but told the Lord where it is paining her._

_*In our moments of pain and agony we must learn from Hannah to speak to the Lord from the depth of our heart. Her mouth was moving, but no voice is heard, but her heart was contemplatively communicating with God.*_

_She prayed efficatively and God answered her. She made a vow to the Lord and when God did for her what she prayed for, she will also return to fulfil her vow to him. Eli thought she was drunk, but when he realised she was seriously praying to God, he blessed her and interceded on her behalf._

_*How do you pray, when you pray? What do you do when difficult situations come to you? How do you react when people mock you and look down on you because of what you don't have? Take it all to God in prayer, do not let depression get at you. Pour out your soul to Him and He will help you as Jesus cured the man with the unclean spirit in the gospel reading.*_

_God took away the shame of Hannah, wiped away her tears and restored her joy. Jesus took away the shame of the man with unclean spirits and restored him to sanity. The same is with us today, therefore, no matter what is troubling you, go down on your knees in prayer, pour out your soul to the Lord, make a vow to Him and you will see Him do for you what He did for Hannah. Our God still answers prayers, believe with faith when you pray and you will surely receive._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a miraculous day. May God hear your prayers when you call upon Him with faith. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 1 Samuel 1:9-20/1 Samuel 2:1,44-8/Mark 1:21-28

*Watch-Word:* Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you made to Him.

_*God loves us and He will always help us in our times of need. Do not give up, but pray until something happens.*_
