*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*BE WISE AND WORK FOR GOD'S KINGDOM*

_"For wisdom is more mobile than any motion; because of her pureness she pervades and penetrates all things. For she is a breath of the power of God, and a pure emanation of the glory of the Almighty" (Wisdom 7:24-25)_

_*Wisdom is the ability to discern inner qualities and to have a good sense of judgement. It is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and anyone who possess it, will definitely be exemplary in attitude and in work.*_

_The first reading of today tells us a lot about wisdom. It says that the pureness of wisdom pervades and penetrates all things, because she is the breath and power of God and the emanation of the glory of the Almighty._

_*We cannot live a good life and overcome the challenges of life without wisdom. Infact, wisdom gives us the strength to navigate the stormy and challenging waters of life.*_

_It is with wisdom that we will be able to proclaim God's kingdom and also work towards gaining eternal life on the last day. The kingdom of God is in our midst and this means that if we have Christ as our Lord and master, then God's kingdom will be operational in us._

_*Everyday is an opportunity to work for God's kingdom, therefore, apply wisdom and make the right choice to let God reign in you and also use you to draw others into His kingdom. We must constantly bear this in mind as we follow Jesus.*_

_If you think you lack wisdom, pray to God to give to you as Solomon did and He will definitely answer your prayers. Do not act foolishly, instead act wisely and you will conquer the vicissitudes of life like Jesus Christ when they come your way._

_*Today we celebrate the memorial of St. Martin of Tours (316 - 397). He was born in the Roman province of Pannonia in about 316 and was educated at Pavia in Italy. He was baptized, left the army and after spent some time as a hermit on an island in western France, where he lived a monastic life guided by St Hilary. Later he was ordained priest and became bishop of Tours. In his actions he gave an example of what a good shepherd should be. The famous story about St Martin is that while a soldier in Amiens he gave half of his military cloak to a beggar and later had a dream in which the beggar revealed himself as Christ. Let us learn from him to be kind as we follow Jesus.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day. May Jesus give you the grace to seek wisdom and to work for His kingdom. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Wisdom 7:22-8:1/Psalm 119:89-91,130,135,175/Luke 17:20-25

*Watch-Word:* God loves nothing so much as the man who lives with wisdom.

_*Grow in wisdom, act wisely, speak wisely and you will be the best you can be for God and humanity.*_
