A WORD FOR TODAY

EASTER SUNDAY: ALLELUIA! JESUS OUR SAVIOUR IS RISEN.

"If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth." (Colossians 3:1-2)

We are gathered here this Easter Sunday morning to celebrate mass of the Resurrection. We have fasted and prayed throughout the lenten season waiting for this day to come and now it has finally come and we are grateful to God who made it possible for us to see this day.

_Easter is the high point of our redemption experience. Jesus died and rose from the dead and all who believe in Him will also rise with Him. By His death Christ liberates us and by His resurrection He opens for us the way to new life.(Romans 6:4)

The proclamation of Peter in the first reading of today is what our role should be. We must go out to proclaim the risen Christ without fear or shame. We must let the world know that He who was buried in the tomb has risen and that the tomb and death could not hold him captive.

Jesus is risen and therefore, we must rise and seek the things that are above as saint Paul tells us in the second reading of today. Our minds and heart must be set on the things of heaven and not on the things of this life.

Mary Magdalene in the gospel reading became the first to witness about the resurrection of Jesus which is proven by the empty tomb she met when she got there. She thought Jesus' body has been stolen, but in actual fact, He is risen. We must rise to share with Joy the Goodnews of Jesus' resurrection and let the world know what happened on that day and be saved also.

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice in it and be glad. Rise from laziness and become hardworking, rise from envy, gossip, idolatry, prayerlessness, sinful e.t.c and begin to a life of the resurrection which is characterised by holiness.

Good morning dearest one Smile😊as you begin your day and do have a splendid Easter celebration. May Jesus our risen Lord take care of you and help you to rise unto glory. Amen.

Meditation: Acts 10:34,37-43/Psalm 118,1-2,15-17,22-23/Colossians 3:1-4

Watch-Word: Seek the things that are Above!

Jesus Christ is risen and you must rise with Him if you will fulfil your purpose in this life. Because He lives we can face tomorrow.
