A WORD FOR TODAY 12 APRIL 2021

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*THE GOSPEL MUST BE PROCLAIMED WITH BOLDNESS

_"And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness." (Acts 3:31)_

_*The persecution experienced by Peter and John as recorded in the first reading of today is something that would have made them to stop preaching Christ, but it actually did the opposite, it fired them up in the Spirit to continue to speak in the name of Jesus Christ.*_

_Our mission on earth is to proclaim Christ crucified, but if we do not put in our strength and energy in doing it, we may not be able to achieve our goal of bringing Jesus to those who have not known Him._

_*Peter and John reported their experience to the other disciples and they prayed together and placed themselves into God's hands. The Holy Spirit came upon them mightily and they continued to proclaim God's word with boldness and power.*_

_The first reading underscores the importance of prayer in the life of the one who proclaims Christ. We must constantly commit into God's hand our mission of Evangelization. We must pray to God when we are persecuted so that we will not give up, but will draw strength from Him to continue to speak in His name and win souls for Him._

_*We cannot do it alone. We need the help of the Holy Spirit who should be our companion in this work of propagating the Good News. In the gospel reading Jesus reminds Nicodemus that the new birth of water and Holy Spirit is a necessary condition for belonging to Him and to inherit eternal life. Therefore, we must keep preaching Christ so that many will come to accept Him and give their lives to Him and be baptised so as to be saved.*_

_Pray to the Holy Spirit to come upon you and empower you to continue to proclaim Christ. Never give up in your duty to speak about Jesus even when you suffer and experience persecution. Stand firm anbd continue to proclaim Christ with boldness and you will be rewarded in the end with eternal life._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a wonderful day and a blessed new week. May the Holy Spirit strengthen you as you proclaim God's kingdom. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Acts 4:23-31/Psalm 2:1-9/John 3:1-8

*Watch-Word:* Blessed are all who trust in you, O Lord.

_*Proclaiming Christ is our primary duty as Christians, we must do it in words and deeds and in season and out of season.*_
