A WORD FOR TODAY

FOCUS ON WHAT MATTERS

_"but I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not know him, but did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of man will suffer at their hands.”(Matthew 17:12)_

_*Whenever we lose focus and start occupying our hearts and minds with things that does not necessarily matter we shall miss the mark and will definitely not act in the manner that is pleasing to the Lord.*_

_In the gospel reading of today, Jesus responded to the questions that the disciples were asking about Elijah. They wanted to have a proof in their belief about Christ probably, but Jesus let them know that Elijah had already come but they did not know because they focused on what does not matter._

God is constantly revealing Himself to us, but it is only those who have the good disposition that will recognise Him and also understand what He is telling us at any point in time.

_We must not focus on having a great and powerful miraculous experience, while opportunities of miracle pass us by each day in little and important things that matter. The way of the Lord is the way of the cross, humility and sacrificial love and anyone who wish to follow Him must be ready to go through that way._

We must focus on the things that matter and we will be able to see God as He is and understand what He wants us to do. God is showing Himself to us, but only those who have the proper disposition will be able to see Him when He comes. Do not allow your quest to grow in wealth and social connections obstruct you from creating quality time to love God and grow in your spirituality.
