A WORD FOR TODAY

When we get attached to Jesus, we will definitely receive the strength from Him to do His will will and to live a ife that will be worthy of emulation.

If Jesus does not have a central place in our lives in this world wetin we gain? Nothing! We must strive to always to give Him the place He deserves and in that way we will be true sons and daughters of our Father who is in Heaven.

When we refuse to place our trust in God and make Him our priority number one, we will get attached to other things of life that will invariably become idols to us.

When we allow the created things of this life to take the place of God in our Iives, we will begin to worship them and give them honour which ordinarily should be given to God and as such we will lose our blessings.

In humility and goodness we must be willing to point out Jesus to others and let them follow Him just as John the Baptist did in the gospel reading. He did not allow the idol of pride and fame to cloud his sense of judgement. Therefore, we must acknowledge God's gift in us and be ready to place it at his service always.

When you love the created things more than the creator Himself, then you have made the created things idol for yourself.
