A WORD FOR TODAY 12 JULY 2019

A WORD FOR TODAY

There was never a time Jesus said that following Him will be easy, instead He instructed His disciples to be ready to pass through various challenges if they are going to work for Him and do His will.

We see in the first reading of today how He instructed His disciples to be ready to witness for Him even as they face persecution. He sent them out as sheep in the midst of wolves. This means that they will experience persecution, rejection, betrayals and so on, but He tells them to be wise as they carry out their assignment.

He knows that the journey will be tough, but He promised to be with them and that the Holy Spirit will come to their defense. He told them to keep moving forward and not look back in the course of their propagation of the message and to persevere till the end so as to receive the reward.

The world will definitely hate us since we belong to Christ and it will do everything possible to conquer us and make us her subject. However, we must not yield to her, instead, we must stay focused and apply wisdom in the things we do and strive always to abide in God.

Our faith in Christ is tested from time to time, but so long as we are in Christ and hold Him firmly we shall never be defeated by the forces of this world. They will try to destroy us, but they will never succeed. Therefore, stay focused and know who you are in Christ and live your life in a manner that will be pleasing to Him and know that He will never abandon you as you go out to proclaim His name.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a splendid day. May Jesus be your strength and wisdom in your moment of tribulation and may He give you victory. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Genesis 46:1-7,28-30/Psalm 37:3-4,18-19,27-28,39-40/Matthew 10:16-23

Watch-Word: But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Trials and tribulations will come, but so long as we remain in Christ we will never be defeated. Victory is sure.
