A WORD FOR TODAY 13 December, 2021

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*TEACH ME YOUR PATHS, O LORD*

_"Make me to know thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me, for thou art the God of my salvation" (Psalm 25:4-5)_

_*God is all knowing and there is nothing hidden in his sight. He shows us the way to follow and when we walk in His path we shall find eternal life and will not be lost forever.*_

_The Lord is ready to show us His way and teach us his path, but most times our pride will not let us to be humble so as to be able to hear Him and know what He is telling us._

_*In the first reading of today we see how the prophet Balaam revealed to the people what the Lord has given to Him. He told them what is to come in the future. A star shall come forth out of Jacob and a sceptre shall rise out of Israel. Jesus is our star and if we allow Him to teach us his ways, we will not walk in darkness.*_

_In the gospel reading the chief priests and elders questioned Jesus' authority out of ignorance and because they were not humble to learn and also as a result of their pride, they set a trap for him through their question and He responded with wisdom and they could not find anything to accuse Him with._

_*Humility helps us to draw closer to Jesus who will teach us his ways so that we may be able to walk in his path. If we know the Lord and walk in His ways, we will inspire others to follow in His ways also.*_

_Do not let pride make you to refuse to seek the Lord with your heart. Draw closer to Him. Seek Him with everything in you and He will show you who He is and you will be blessed._

_*Today we celebrate the memorial of St. Lucy, Virgin Mayrtr.(283-304). She offered her life to God at a tender age. She gave up her wealth to the needy and was subjected to horrible and shameful torture before she finally died. We learn from her to choose light over darkness always.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a peaceful day. May Jesus give you the grace to know Him and to walk in His ways. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Numbers 24:2-7,15-17/Psalm 25:4-9/Matthew 21:23-27

*Watch-Word:* Let us see, O Lord, your mercy and grant us your salvation.

*Seek the Lord with your heart and you will know Him and will represent Him well here on earth.*

(Monday of the third week of Advent. Cycle C. Memorial of St. Lucy)
