A WORD FOR TODAY

Today we are celebrating the feast of the Apostle Matthias. He was the one whom the lot fell upon to take over the position of Jusas Iscariot. He did not choose himself, but was chosen by God for the mission of witnessing for Him. The apostles prayed before they cast the lot that fell upon him and he played his role as an apostle.

There is need for us to always pray and seek the face of God in everything we do so that we do not make mistake of choosing the way that the Lord has not chosen. When we pray to God before we embark on a project or activity, He guides us well and help us to achieve our desired purpose and goal. We must put God first before everyother thing and in that way we shall be successful.

The one who chooses is God, and when He does choose, it is for a purpose. He gives us a responsibility to carry out in His name and He send us into the world to go and witness for Him.

We are chosen to go out and bear fruits and not just any kind of fruit, but fruits that will endure. We must bear fruits of love, peace, kindness, forgiveness and so on. We must always look at the example of Jesus to be our guide in this task of bearing fruits for God. He laid dow His life for us and if we become His disciples we must also be ready to lay down our life for others in love.

For us to be truly Jesus' friends we must be ready to do what He asks us to do by obeying His commandments. When we do His will we will be able to ask the Father anything in His name and it will be granted to us. Now is the time to stay close to Jesus and let His love guide us to love others as He has loved us and laid down His life for us.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a magnificent day. May Jesus give you the grace to bear fruits for Him in abundance. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Acts 1:15-17,20-26/Psalm 113:1-8/John 15:9-17

Watch-Word: This I command you, to love one another!

Our mission is to bear fruit for Jesus, but for us to bear good fruits we must abide in His love and be ready to lay down our lives for others.
