*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*PRAY TO GOD TO HELP YOU MAKE A GOOD CHOICE IN LIFE*

_"And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsab′bas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthi′as. And they prayed and said, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, show which one of these two thou hast chosen."(Acts, 1:23-24)_

_*Today we celebrate the feast of the Apostle Matthias. He was chosen from among the disciples to take over the position of Judas, which became vacant after he betrayed Jesus.*_

_It is said that nature abhors vaccum and that is what could be used to explain why the apostles chose to fill up the position left by Judas after he chose to switch allegiance and worked for those who killed his master. They did well by choosing another to replace him so that the college of apostles may be complete._

_*In making the choice of who to replace Judas, they prayed to God and sought for someone who has been following them and who is a witness to the resurrection. They sought for an upright and holy man and they looked up to God in their decision so as not to make mistake.*_

_Choices are bound to be made in life, however, if you do not make the right choice, you will definitely have a regret later, because it will cause you pain and sometimes stop you from reaching your desired or destined goal in life._

_*In order for us to make the right choice in life, be it career, vocation (marriage, priestly), leadership, academics, change of location and so on, one need to pray and seek the face and grace of discernment from God so as to be able to choose wisely.*_

_The apostles prayed to God who knows the hearts of all men and He helped them to make the right choice in St. Matthias. We must learn from that as we journey in life. God must be involved in all we do and we will be able to do it well._

_*Proclaiming God's love is our mission in life and it is a serious business. God has chosen us to go out and bear fruits of love, therefore, we must constantly respect His choice of us as His beloved disciples and then make ourselves available for Him at all times so as to win souls for Him.*_
