A WORD FOR TODAY

GREAT THINGS HAPPEN WHEN JESUS IS WITH US

_"While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. And he said to them, “What is this conversation which you are holding with each other as you walk?” And they stood still, looking sad."_(Luke 24:15-17)

There is a song we sing that goes thus: Great things happen, when God mixes with us 2x, great and beautiful, wonderful things, great things happen when God mixes with us.

The first and the gospel readings of today have something in common. It is about what happens when we have Jesus with us. In the first reading, we see how the lame man at the beautiful gate who was begging for alms, got something much better. In the name of Jesus, miracle happened and he could walk again. It is not Peter and John who were responsible, because they were simply instruments in the hands of God, it is simply Jesus healing the man for God's glory.

It is always a problem when we try to take glory for what God has done through us. We are simply vessels and instruments in God's hand and God can chose to heal or not to heal through us. It is a about where, when, how and in the manner He chooses to do it, ours is just to be disposed to accept whatever He gives to us and definitely whatever He gives to us will always be the best for us.

In the gospel reading we see how Jesus opened the eyes of the two disciples on their way to Emmaus. They did not recognise Him at first, but when they did at the breaking of the bread, their eyes were opened and their hearts were filled with joy and they hurriedly went back to announce the Good News to the other disciples.

The name of Jesus is miracle, His name is salvation and redemption. His name is freedom and healing, His name is Upliftment and favour. We need to encounter Him and we need His name to always be on our lips. As the Scripture says, those who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Peter and John had neither silver or gold to offer, but when they offered what they have, which is Jesus, miracle happened and the man who was lame, walked again to the glory of God.

If you will give Jesus to people, you must first of all have an encounter with Him. You must let Him dwell in your heart and from the good you have received from Him you will now go out to share with others. God will make use of us to make His name known if we are willing to let His will be done.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have miraculous day. May the name of jesus speak for you and in His name may you receive the miracle you seek. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Acts 3:1-10/Psalm 105:1-9/Luke 24:13-35

Watch-Word: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise and walk.

The power in Jesus' name is unlimited, therefore, believe in Him and it will work for you.
