*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*MARY WAS HUMBLE AND BELIEVED*

_In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah. (Luke 1:39)_

*What is means to believe*

_There is no way to affirm that you believe unless you act or live by what you believe. We see this in the life of the blessed mother. She believed all that the Angel had said and we can affirm this by scripture and tradition we say that Mary went to her cousin Elizabeth to help her through her pregnancy for a while. If Mary had not believed she would not have made a move. Think of the many things that we claim to believe. Take for example: we believe that God is present in our Churches and in the Blessed Sacrament. Does our action show that we believe?_

*The blessedness of the Blessed Mother*

_.And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for He has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.(Luke 1:46‭-‬48)_‬‬

_*No one can be anything or have anything unless given by God. In the same way, no one can get so much from God unless they cooperate with God. A close look at the beginning of Mary’ song of praise, one may find in it the source of the Blessed Mother’s blessedness. First, it is her humility which makes under attribute to God the goodness in her life. We can also take it that God regarded her lowliness. God loves the lowly, that is the humble. It is not in Mary’s style to raise shoulders.*_

*The Assumption of the Blessed Mother.*

_Today we celebrate with great solemnity, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven. This is a big feast that shows us, among other things, the end of the Blessed. Our Lady is taken up body and soul into heaven after her time here on earth. This reminds us that one day we would have to quit this earth. The question is, would we join in the company of the blessed? For if we do then for us that would be good news._

_*We have already seen above, what it means to be blessed. We have also seen that humility is a road to blessedness. The ball is left to us to live by the faith we believe and profess. The onus is left to us to acknowledge that we are nothing but servants of God who must do everything to stay humble. Humility is a way to blessedness and Blessed is he or she who truly believes.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊and keep smiling in joy. Happy Solemnity. May the Blessed Mother continue to intercede for us And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen._
