*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*THE LORD IS OUR DEFENCE*

_How great is your goodness, O Lord, which you have in store for those who fear you, and towards those who take refuge in you Psalm 31:19._

_*Today is a good time to pray. A good time to renew our confidence in the goodness of the Lord. The psalmist in our readings give us a very beautiful prayer of hope. Gods goodness in store for those who fear him is so huge. Our duty is to work hard to live in the fear of the Lord.*_

_To fear the Lord does not mean to be afraid of him. It means to try to please the Lord who loves us so much. And this is wisdom. When we fear the Lord we naturally begin to have godly wisdom._

_*To take refuge in the Lord means to put your trust in him in times of trouble. Instead of living in despair or fear which is even not good for our health, we must learn to abandon our cares in the hand of the Lord.*_

_When you let God take care of you, He will prote t you and deliver you from every evil. He will defend you from every attack and keep you safe in moments of danger. Therefore, Stay with Him and keep trusting in Him for He will never disappoint you._

_*Today we celebrate a great intercessor, Our Lady mother of Sorrows. She suffered pain in fulfilling her role as the Mother of Jesus and our Mother also, but she remained steadfast until the end. Let us call on her as we pray today. She is a good Mother. She is called mother of Sorrows because of the sufferings she shared with her son. She will also share our joys and Sorrows. She will also share in our prayer and obtain for us blessings from her Son.*_
