A WORD FOR TODAY 16 FEBRUARY 2021

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*STRIVE TO BE GOOD AND YOU WILL FIND FAVOUR IN THE SIGHT OF GOD*

_"But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation." (Genesis 6:8, 7:1)_

_*It is always disappointing to find out that someone you have spent so much to try to help to become successful and grow spiritually in life, abandons the good way you have laid down for him to follow bad friends and become wayward.*_

_The story of the first reading of today is about God feeling sorry that He made man. We read before now that after He created, He saw that all was good, but sin and evil entered into the world through man's disobedience to His command. The evil and corruption in the world made God to feel bad._

_*God sent the waters of the flood to cleanse the earth from the evil that is trying to destroy it. However, we have something positive to take from the entire story. Even as the earth was full of evil, there was still a man who stood out and was living a righteous life. Noah was an upright man and he did not allow the world to corrupt him, but stood out and lived a life that made him to find favour in the sight of God and was saved from the flood that came upon the earth.*_

_Evil may be in the world, but we must strive to be the light that shines in the midst of darkness. We must stand out like Noah to live a righteous life and detest corruption, wickedness and unfaithfulness even when every other person may be guilty of it._

_*If we live a righteous life it will position us to find favour in the sight of God and when we find favour we shall be saved from destruction. God told Noah to build an ark and everything that entered into that ark were saved. The Church represents God's ark in this new dispensation, we must be ready to love the Church and come to her for our siptitual renewal and upliftment.*_

_Evil acts of men made God feel bad, but our righteous living can also make Him happy, let us strive to live well and be good so that we shall be a consolation to God when others live in sin. As we begin the lenten season tomorrow let it be for us a time of renewal when we Shall turn away from our evil ways and live a holy life._

_*Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a peaceful day. May God show you mercy and raise you up from where you have fallen. Amen. And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* Genesis 6:5-8;7:1-5,10/Psalm 29:1-4,9-10/Mark 8:14-21

*Watch-Word:* The Lord will bless His people with peace.

*Live well for God here on earth and He will save you on the last day.*
