A WORD FOR TODAY

In serving the Lord you must declare where you stand. It is not enough to say by word of mouth that you are a member, it has to be seen in your action that you are truly committed to the thing you profess.

Joshua needed to know those who were with him and he told the people to choose whom they will serve, but as for him and his household, they will serve the Lord. We must declare our stand, we must cast away the alien gods around us and give our hearts totally to God if we claim to be His children.

If we do not place our trust in God above everyother gods in this life, we will not be able to serve Him and represent Him well. It is only when we submit to Him as our Lord and Master and let Him take charge over us that it will be possible for us to claim that we belong to Him.

We must be childlike in our attitude and mentality as we follow the Lord. We must come before Him always believing without any doubt that He is able to take care of us. We must seek Him with our whole heart and let Him guide us in all that we do. We must remain holy and faithful to Him at all times.

Children are blessings to our homes, families and our world. We must take good care of them because we were once children and someone took care of us until we became adults. It is very important for us to lead them to Christ and show them the path that lead to life rather than be an obstruction in their way and lead them astray.

Children are weak and powerless, therefore we must avoid taking advantage of their weakness to abuse or manipulate them and probably become a bad influence to them. In the same vein we have the weak, the poor, powerless and marginalized around us always, we must never be the reason why they could not get to God. Our responsibility should be to take them to God so that they will receive their blessings too.

Be careful what you do before the little ones and how you treat them, because if they are lead astray and scandalized through our actions, it will be very difficult for them to heal and recover as they grow up to become adults. Always be conscious of this, and before you perform any action try to check how it will affect those around you, especially the weak, either positively or negatively and that will help you to make the right choice.

Watch what you say or do before an innocent child, because it could either make him great for life or it will destroy her. Do not be an obstruction to their growth and blessings
