A WORD FOR TODAY

The definition of blessedness by the Lord is quite different from what we think it is. We see blessedness from what people have and what they control, but God sees blessedness from the perspective of how people place their trust in Him._

To trust in the Lord is indeed the best way to live a blessed life, because the one who trusts in the Lord will flourish and produce fruits like a tree planted beside the flowing water. To trust in the Lord means that we have made the Lord our source of grace and strength in our journey of faith.

To trust in the Lord does not mean that we may not experience difficulties and challenges in life, but our trust in Him will give us the strength we need to overcome and persevere till the end.

To be rich is not a bad thing, but when we fail to place our wealth at the service of the poor, it will become a curse for us. We may have the wealth and people will worship us here on earth, but in the eyes of the Lord we are poor and the doors of heaven will not be opened for us.

As Christians we should always look forward to the eternal reward we will receive from God at the end of time and that should motivate us to persevere and remain steadfast and not be moved to abandon the way of God even when we encounter suffering, because God will surely pay us back with good.

The way of God for happiness is different from the standard of the world. The choice will be ours to make whether to follow God's way and abandon the way of the world or to follow the way of the world and abandon the values of Jesus. Think about it and make the right choice and you will surely be happy here on earth and in the world to come.*_
