A WORD FOR TODAY

OPEN THE DOOR OF YOUR HEART FOR THE LORD

_"Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me."(Revelation 3:21)_

_*The word of the Lord is always a guide to those who want to live well and also make heaven on the last day. If we value the word and strive to do what it commands, we shall be prepared and be found worthy to enter into eternal life at the end of time.*_

_As we continue to read from the book of revelation, we see how the Lord spoke to the Churches in Sardis and Laodicea of the need to rise up and strengthen what is remaining and is at the point of death. It is simply a call to repentance and a change of heart._

When we make the decision to follow Jesus, we must strive to keep going forward and not backwards. Our focus should be on Him and not on the things of the world. If we let the material things of life occupy our heart, our love for God will grow cold and we shall become lukewarm.

_The Lord is standing at the door of our heart knocking. We must open for him quickly so that He will enter and dine with us. He will heal us, forgive our sins and restore our peace and joy. It is all about changing for good and not for evil._

_*Our intimate friendship with God is restored when we open the door of our heart for Him to enter and take His rightful place. Zacchaeus sought for the Lord and He found Him. Whoever seeks the Lord fervently will surely find Him. After His encounter with Jesus he made restitution for all the things he has not done well in the past. Our lives will be transformed and renewed if we open our hearts to the Lord. Salvation comes to those who are willing and ready to let Jesus come into their heart.*_

_Jesus is ready to come in and stay with us in our house, but are we ready to let Him come. Now is the time to repent and be saved. We must keep striving to live well for God so that we will conquer and if we do, we will have the honour to sit with Him on the throne on the last day._

Today we celebrate the memorial St. Elizabeth of Hungary (1207-1231). She was a daughter of the King of Hungary. She was given in marriage to Ludwig, the Landgrave of Thuringia, by whom she had three children. She frequently meditated on heavenly things and when her husband died she embraced poverty and built a hospice in which she cared for the sick herself. Let us learn from her to always do good with what we have.

_*The Lord reproves and chastens those he loves. Therefore, hear His voice and change for the better. Now is the time to change for the better.*_
