*A WORD FOR TODAY

*DO NOT LOVE MONEY MORE THAN GOD

_For the love of money is the root of all evils, and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains.(1 Timothy 6:10)_

_*My dear friend, with money we can buy many things and live comfortable lives. This is why money is very important and necessary. No wonder today for example, when you go out, you will notice a certain hustle and bustle everywhere. Everyone is trying to make ends meet, chasing money and trying to make it big time. Sometimes the hustle will become so intense that the person does not have quality time to spend with God anymore.*_

_Unfortunately, this our noble desire to work and earn a living can be easily used as a bait to make us forsake God and godly principles. As the Apostle Paul wrote in the first reading of today, some people in their desire for money have strayed from the faith._

_*Straying from the faith is not without consequences. The Apostle Paul says, that by Straying from the faith, such persons _have pierced themselves with many pains.*_

_We must be very vigilant and fight the good Fight of faith. It is possible to work hard and earn the blessings of money and be happy together. Let us ignore the temptation and strive to overcome Satan's use of our quest for prosperity as bait to lead us to ungodly compromise and unhappiness. It is better to be poorer and happy because you refused to compromise than to be richer but sad._

_*We must constantly make sure that the money we make in life is put into good use like the women mentioned in the gospel used their wealth to provide for needs of the preachers of the gospel. We must never let money rule our heart and make us forget the God who gave us life. Work hard everyday to earn a living, but never let your quest to make money become a top priority before your quest to love God and serve Him. Money is not the root of all evils, but the love of it. Therefore, be disciplined as you go through life. Strive to be contented always and grow in holiness, faith and love and eternal life shall be your reward.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊 as you do your work and do have a splendid and very prosperous day. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 1 Tm 6:2c-12/Ps 49: 6-7, 17-18, 19-20/Lk 8:1-3

*Watch-Word:* Blessed the poor in spirit; the Kingdom of heaven is theirs!

*Avoid ungodly compromise for money. Money cannot buy you happiness*
