A WORD FOR TODAY

PROCLAIM JESUS WITHOUT FEAR

"But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge; for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard." (Acts 4:19-20)

It is one thing to discover something wonderful and it is another to be able to make it available for everyone to see. If you claim to have discovered something wonderful, then you must be able to let others know about it without being ashamed.

The more the rulers and elders tried to stop Peter and John from speaking about Jesus, the more they were fired up in the Spirit to continue to talk about Him. Infact, they were not ashamed to call the name of Jesus. They have discovered the greatness in Christ and it is something that they were willing to risk everything including giving up their lives to make sure that the world knows about Him.

Our mission here on earth is to proclaim Jesus and if you are not doing that already, it means that you are yet to come to terms with what your priority in this life should be. Proclaiming Christ and announcing the Good News is not meant for the priest alone, rather it is for everyone as we can see in the gospel reading where Jesus tells his disciples, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to the whole creation."

To be ashamed to talk about Jesus is simply to show that you do not know who He really is. If you know Jesus, you will not be ashamed to talk about Him, because He will mean everything to you and you cannot abandon Him for anything because He has all that you will need in life to be happy.

The boldness to proclaim Christ comes from the Holy Spirit and if we proclaim Him here on earth without shame He will surely proclaim us before His Father in heaven. Hide no more, come out from your shell and let the world know that you belong to Christ. Do not let anything in this life stop you from telling people about Jesus and what He can do for anyone who accepts Him.

Now is the time to proclaim the risen Christ. Now is the time to let the world know about Him in words and deeds. Now is the time to defend our faith in Christ. Now is the time not to be afraid or ashamed to proclaim Him, but to go out everywhere as His disciples to win more souls into His kingdom. Whether at home, in the school, in the market, in the church and even in the farm, Christ must be proclaimed and you are chosen to do that without shame or fear.
