A WORD FOR TODAY 18 DEC 2018

One thing we know about the God we serve is that He does not make a promise and fail. He is faithful and keeps His word from generation to generation.

We see that the promise He made to the people of Israel through the mouth of the prophet Jeremiah as we have it in the first reading came to be fulfilled in the gospel reading.

It might interest you to know that God made use of human instruments in the person of Our Blessed Mother and saint Joseph to bring Jesus into the world and to take care of Him as a father respectively.

Jesus did not come for Himself, but came to bring salvation to the world. His birth shone a light in the world that is full of darkness.

The attitude of Joseph as an instrument in the hands of God and one who played a role in taking care of Jesus and Mary is worthy of emulation. He did not want to embarrass Mary when he found out that she was with a child, instead he made a decision to safeguard her honour and send her away quietly.

After the encounter with the Lord, he submitted his will and did as the angel of the Lord has directed him. This teaches us to always submit ourselves to God's will, because it will always be the best thing to do.

Jesus will be born in our hearts if we allow Him and He will make use of us in this life to bring glory and honour to His name, therefore,  strive everyday to let God's will be done in your life and you will win His admiration and blessings.

Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you begin this day and do have a wonderful time at work and business. May God's will be done in your life and may His faithfulness give you strength to remain faithful also. Amen. And May the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Meditation: Jeremiah 23:5-8/Psalm 72:1-2,12-13,18-19/Matthew 1:18-24

Watch-Word: Behold, a Virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel!

God's will is the best for us and when we let His will be done in us we shall not make mistake and our hearts will be at peace.
