A WORD FOR TODAY 18 JANUARY 2022

*A WORD FOR TODAY*

*FOLLOW GOD'S LEAD AND YOU WILL NOT MAKE A MISTAKE*

_"But the Lord said to Samuel, Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the Lord sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”(1 Samuel 16:7)_

_*Mistakes are made and opportunities are lost when people refuse to take advise or heed to instructions or follow the lead of those who know the way or are more experienced than them in the the matter they are involved in.*_

_Man sees as man and what we see and what we know is imperfect when compared with what God sees and what He knows. We can know as much as we can about people, but God knows everything about us because there is nothing hidden in His sight._

_*We see in the first reading of today how Samuel looking at appearance, would have made a mistake to anoint the wrong person as king. Appearance truly deceives, because what you see on the outside may not be what it is truly on the inside.*_

_God stepped in when that mistake was about to be made and told Samuel to wait and anoint David instead. He was the least in the house of Jesse, but He was God's choice. God will make use of him for the good of the people._

_*It is always good to listen to God's voice and follow His lead as we make decisions in life. We can never know it all and we can never see it all, but if we let God guide us, He will help us to make the decision that will bring us good and not disaster.*_

_We must learn not to be quick in judgement and condemnation as the pharisees did in the gospel reading. Do not judge people by their appearance, because the one you look down upon could actually be your destiny helper and could have much to offer than the person you put your hope upon. In order for us not to make this mistake we must patiently look upon the Lord and let Him show us the way._

_*God's choice may look weak and unprepared at the beginning, but He will always give the person the power to fulfill his or her mission. David at his time of calling was the smallest in the house and inexperienced, but he will go on to be the killer of the giant Goliath. Be wise and let God help you make the right decision today.*_

_Good morning dearest one. Smile😊as you do your work and do have a beautiful day. May Jesus give you the grace to stay focused and make the right decision in life. Amen. *And may the Almighty God bless you: the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.*_

*Meditation:* 1 Samuel 16:1-13/Psalm 89:20-22,27-28/Mark 2:23-28

*Watch-Word:* The Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath.

_*God can help you to make the right choice in life. Stay close to Him, listen to Him and be ready to do what He wants.*_
