A WORD FOR TODAY

Sometimes in life we experience tough and difficult times. We are confronted by the vicissitudes of life that often weigh us down and make us to begin to seek solutions on how to get out of it. If we do not follow the right path, procedure and principle we may never get out of it.

The readings of today presents us with the way to face our difficulties and challenges. In the first reading God sends Moses to go to Egypt and tell pharaoh to let His people go. God is always concerned about our challenges and He is always available to help us, but we must put our trust in Him and believe that He can do all things.

Moses did not go by His power, but under God's instruction and mandate. He was sent and he obeyed God and did as He was told. God saved His people through Him and they were brought to the land He promised them which is full of milk and honey.

In the gospel reading, Jesus invites us to come to Him and cast our burden unto Him for in Him we shall find rest and He will help us to overcome our challenges and difficulties. Jesus has become an example for us and we must hope in Him, because He will never abandon us.

If we insist on carrying our own burden by ourselves it will weigh us down, but if we give it to Jesus and learn from Him we will find the strength to march on. Jesus carried His cross while He was on earth and He never gave up, we must follow His example if we intend to make it till the end of our life journey.

What burden are you carrying? What pain is in your heart? Come to Jesus today and drop it off and take His own yoke upon yourself. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Learn from Jesus today and be humble and gentle in heart and you will definitely become victorious in the end. Our liberation and freedom comes from Jesus, therefore, we must strive to hold unto Him and He will take care of us and give us life.
